These quilts are part of a project created by Karey Bresenhan of Quilts, Inc. and the International Quilt Association (IQF) / International Quilt Festival (IQF). My first year in this project was 2005. The project required us to create an 8 1/2" x 11" quilt each month using any techniques and or themes we chose. Upon completion, we selected five, mounted them on a sleeve, included our written comments and sent them to Quilts, Inc. where they were included in a display of journal quilts at the International Quilt Association Festival in the fall. The exhibit also traveled to the IQA Chicago show, the Lyons, France show and Images in Lowell, Massachusetts. To see many of the journal quilts visit www.quiltart.com/2004journals/.

In 2006 Karey Bresenhan and Pokey Bolton of Quilting Arts Magazine collaborated to publish a book, Creative Quilting, The Journal Quilt Project. I am very pleased to be included in this book with two of my journal quilts: March 2005 – A Spring Landscape and January 2006 – Another Storm.

Not all the months are represented below as some of these have been sold and some just weren’t successful. Journal quilts are 8 1/2" x 11" and are $100 each.
